Flash Frozen & Brain Fried

Happy Sunday!

Book & Writing News

I am pleased to announce that I will have a Christmas release coming out through Torquere Press. The story is entitled Time for Christmas, and currently has a release date of December 4th. More information will be forth coming as we get closer to the time.

In sad news, Bonus will be going out of print shortly. Sales have tapered off, and Torquere has decided to revert my rights to me. So, if you haven’t and want to, grab your copy soon!

I don’t have a whole lot else to report on the writing front. School has started up again and I am slammed, hence the “brain fried” in the title.

The Personal Stuff

At the start of the 2nd year of grad school, my major has to take comprehensive exams, covering the two main topic tracks from the first year. You have to pass them both, you have to pass at least one the first time out, and you only get one second chance. So, there’s a lot of stress. We found out the results at the end of the first week of school, (I passed, thank God) and it took me another week after that to kind of pull myself out of that funk and get going again. So, stress from that.

And in the middle of that, there was a HUGE misunderstanding with my brother about the date of his wedding reception, which caused me to cancel some plans I had made which really bummed me out. We got that cleared up though, the weekend was not spoken for, and I was able to remake my plans without any financial penalty.

I put a lot of time in on school work/projects yesterday, but only managed about 2 hours today. I’m just plum wiped.

So today, I’ve mainly been sitting, catching up on some podcasts, and knitting.

Okay, that’s not entirely true. I cleaned out the spice cupboard and the tea cupboard, which was well overdue. Seriously, I had spices that had expired in 2006. (This means they’ve been through at least two moves.) And I’ve made tea maybe twice in the year I’ve been here. I probably could have dumped more of the tea, but I pitched about half of it, so I’m calling that a win. Then I went grocery shopping, and spent a little time cooking. Lunch is made for tomorrow, and there’s leftovers for dinner/lunch for a couple days. (If you knew me, you would know this is major. I never make lunch ahead.)

THEN I got a little homework done before giving up and knitting. The yarn is up there in the photo, and it is appropriately colored for October, though a Halloween project was not why it was purchased. I shall, however, enjoy the synchronicity. In terms of what it is? You’ll see that when it’s done. Guesses are welcome in the meantime.

I bought Bonus on the day it published, and I’ve read it several times since. I love that story! *makes a note to look for your Christmas story*

Aw, thanks, Kristi! I’m glad to hear that Bonus is a story you keep going back to. Time for Christmas is very different from Bonus, but I hope you like it as well.

The release date is supposed to be 12/4, and everything looks on target at the moment. And you have just reminded me that I need to update my blog, and get a page up for the book. Thanks!
