Christmas Is Coming

Christmas Is Coming

“Christmas” being a shortened version of the title: “It’s Christmas Everywhere But Here,” which is now on the Coming Soon page at Dreamspinner Press. The release date is December 3, 2014, which is a heck of a lot closer than it should be, yow. I have been busy the last month and a half because I got a new job, and then had to do all the things that come with a new job, like finding an apartment and moving and racking up the credit card and dealing with a paycheck when direct deposit hasn’t kicked in and the holiday makes the mail all wonky. Have been knitting a little, writing less (boo) and mainly just trying to settle in and find a new routine. And Thanksgiving is next week and my book releases the week after that and holy...

Quick Notes for Weds

A week from now will be the cover reveal for It’s Christmas Everywhere But Here. Might as well put this out there: I’m job hunting. If you know anyone who needs a statistician with a computer science background, let me know! Have some cheeky British boys getting Ripped & Stripped for a calendar and “making of” video. If you like your calendars with a little more clothing, check out Yoga Men 2015. It is time for some website/theme maintenance. I will be fiddling with the website at some point over the next week or so. Also, due to Facebook’s recent bullshit, I am reconsidering having my author profile here at all. I haven’t made any firm decisions, but that may go away in the next bit. That’s it for...

The August Melt

The August Melt

It’s Monday, again. Whee. Newsworthy Things I have begun edits on a release for Dreamspinner Press: It’s Christmas Everywhere But Here, scheduled for release during the 2015 Holiday Season. Modified my Facebook page, so you should be able to Follow instead of needing to Friend. I am very much not-Facebook-saavy. Gotten my first-ever traffic ticket, for failing to pull over for a cop who was giving a ticket. It is justified, I just wish it hadn’t come when I was living off my savings. Had a couple good job interviews, so hopefully something will come from at least one of them soon. It is supposed to hit nearly 100° F here today. With thunderstorms. This is OREGON. WTF. Gay For You I read an article recently (that I of course cannot now find)...

It’s July 1st…

…do you know where your backups are? If not, it’s probably a good time to make some: How to Backup your WordPress site. (You want to back up both the content (usually database) and the stuff that makes the site work. The “wp-content” folder does NOT contain your post text.) For my future references, here is a link to a site on how to optimize your WordPress site for SEO. (And just have a tidy site in general.) And lastly, make sure your site is updated. After my backups are done, there’s at least one WordPress update waiting for me. These updates offer new features, but also fix security holes. It’s very important to keep your site updated to the latest version. That’s it for me, today. I’m going to go put the...

Expect Radio Silence

Hello. I am still here. I am also smack in the middle of finishing up my Master’s degree which means things are … nuts. Nut is a good word. I’m working on my project, on top of my class work, and starting job hunting. What brain space is left is fending off an anxiety attack. So. It’s going to be quiet around here for a while. (Like it hasn’t been already.) I’m still doing creative writing in the quiet moments, and have a release coming out December of this year. I will come back. For now, I thank you for your patience, and leave you with this beautiful Sonnet.
